Nudestix review
Tight+Bright Face Mask 10% Mandelic Acid + 10% Niacinamide
The NUDESTIX Tight+Bright Face Mask 10% Mandelic Acid + 10% Niacinamide is a clean mask loaded with nourishing ingredients like aloe, cucumber, green tea, and niacinamide. The formula is a gel texture with an enticing bright green color that makes the product fun.
My biggest complaint about this product and the rest of the Nudestix Skincare line is the product size. There isn't enough product to use it as directed on the bottle and, therefore, makes it difficult to actually see results. This product in particular was runnier, so when you opened the bottle a bunch of product is lost or you get more than you want and, ultimately, waste it. Unfortunately, the product size of this entire line prevents me from wanting to invest in it further.
Overall, I used the mask a handful of times before it was gone and it left my face feeling hydrating and soft, but I did not notice any tightening. Usually, I prefer a mask that tightens or hardens so I know it’s ready to be removed, but this mask didn’t do that. Once it was rinsed off, I followed up with facial oil and got OUTSTANDING results. My face was glowy and velvety. For whatever reason, following up with a facial oil after this product resulted in glass skin so I was very happy about that.
5% Citrus Fruit & Glycolic Glow Toner
The NUDESTIX 5% Citrus Fruit & Glycolic Glow Toner is an alcohol free toner with natural AHAs and citrus fruit acids that are great for exfoliation and removing dead skin. While I liked the clean ingredients, sustainable packaging, and the result of the product removing excess dirt and oil like a toner should, I wasn’t WOW’d by this toner’s performance. It just felt like a regular ol’ toner to me. I would recommend this toner to clients looking for clean ingredients who don't have sensitive skin because this product is loaded with essential oils.
Typically, I prefer a more hydrating toner that leaves skin feeling velvety and nourished, and I did not get that from this toner. After a month of use, I didn’t notice any changes or differences with blemishes, dark spots, or pore size.
The formula is lightweight and leaves your face feeling clean and free of dirt and oil like a toner should. The product has a pump dispenser that can be used when the bottle is upright, as opposed to turning it upside down, and efficiently distributes the formula into a cotton round or reusable makeup cloth. The bottle itself is recyclable and the product packaging is biodegradable, which were big pluses. While I do not plan to use this toner on my face anymore, I will be using it as an exfoliator after my brazilian and armpit waxes.
Lemon-Aid Detox & Glow Micro-Peel
I used this to exfoliate my armpit area after a wax and didn't receive the same results (not much balling effect and didn't notice any additional smoothness.) Overall, I liked this product for facial use but wished it was strong enough like the Ordinary’s AHA+BHA peel so that it can be used to exfoliate other areas, especially after a wax. One frustration I had with this product was the packaging and formula combination. Because the formula is runny, every time I opened the cap, I lost product in the shower which was really frustrating. I wish this product was packaged more thoughtfully so I didn’t lose so much product when opening the bottle.
Overall, the NUDESTIX Lemon-Aid Detox & Glow Micro-Peel Mask is a gentle at-home micropeel that effectively removes excess dirt and oil and isn't too strong that someone could mis-use it. After 10 seconds of application, the formula balls up as it collects and removes dead skin cells, which is an interesting experience for the consumer and proof that it's working. The product is lightly fragranced with citrus and smells nice in the shower.
Citrus-C Mask & Daily Moisturizer
The NUDESKIN by NUDESTIX Citrus-C Mask & Daily Moisturizer is a hydrating daily moisturizer with an earthy + citrus scent. It has Yuzu and Tumeric as star ingredients that are great for a bright, hydrated, and youthful glow.
The formula is thick and more heavy weighted, so I found the best results before bed as an overnight mask, because this texture is not my favorite consistency to layer with makeup and SPF for a full face. I received the best results for velvety skin when I used it after the Nudestix Micropeel and paired it with my favorite serum & moisturizer before bed. Packaging is recyclable and boxing is biodegradable. The ld comes with a point to puncture the sanitary seal, but I didn’t find any use for it.
Citrus Clean Balm & Make-up Melt
The NUDESTIX Citrus Clean Balm & Make-up Melt is a super nourishing makeup melt that's a fun neon/electric yellow color. It cuts through makeup easily and removes stubborn products like lash glue, waterproof makeup and mascara. The balm is strongly fragranced with a zesty, lemon/citrus/limonene scent that all uses may not like but I enjoy it. Product packaging is recyclable and boxing is biodegradable. Packaging is styled with a minimalist/modern, pastel aesthetic. Lid comes with a point to puncture through sanitary peel, but I didn’t find much use for it.
Overall, I thought this product did its job, but the fragrance is pretty overpowering. Some balms are more gentle and don’t burn the eyes or taste like poison when removing lipstick, but I found this to be pretty unpleasant when using it around the eyes and mouth.
