Keys Soulcare review

Melting Body Balm

As a Black woman, lotion has been THE staple in my beauty care routine. Growing up, dry skin was always a no-no in my house, so we always used the thickest, butteriest lotions - either concoctions we made or products like CereVe and natural shea butter. As a beauty specialist of 10 years, I have an extensive collection of thick and creamy shea butters, body butters, and lotions of all sorts, and the KEYS SOULCARE Melting Body Balm is in my top three with The Body Shop and Soothing Touch's body butters.

The scent blends perfectly with my chocolate body butter and leaves a long-lasting scent that's gentle and pleasant. What I love most about this formula is that a little goes a long way and it's extremely multipurpose. Whether you're applying it to your feet, elbows, hands, knees, or ankles, it's a great replenishment of hydration and holds moisture for 24 hours. There's no question why this product has won several awards including the Byrdie Eco Beauty Award (2021), InStyle Beauty Editors' Pick, and SELF Magazine's 2021 SELF Healthy Beauty Award. I will absolutely be buying more and sending it with gifts this year!

Body Polish

The KEYS SOULCARE Body Polish is a more gentle exfoliation for the body that leaves the skin feeling soft and supple. I also like to use this as a lip scrub.

As a beauty specialist of 10 years and someone who gets waxed often, I'm always exploring new exfoliators for the body, as well as ingrown hairs. I get Brazilians and wax my armpits regularly, which requires a more vigorous scrub. I have tried to use this on my bikini area and armpits after waxing, and it's not as effective as a loofah or coffee scrub when trying to exfoliate, which is why I gave it 4 stars.

What I love about this product is the texture. It's not runny, oily, or just grains, like some sugar and coffee scrubs. Instead, it's more of a luxurious butter that melts into the skin and rinses off gently. There has been a noticeable difference in our skin, as I have been using this on my partner's back in the shower and on my legs after shaving.

Nourishing Cleansing Balm

As a beauty brand owner and beauty advisor of 5 years, I have been ecstatic about KEYS Soulcare and haven't been let down yet. The KEYS Soulcare Cleansing Balm is a rich and creamy formula that's great for removing makeup. Charcoal is a purifying ingredient that's great for capturing, buffing, and removing impurities like dirt, makeup, and excess oil.

To balance out the detoxifying properties of charcoal, the balm has shea butter, sunflower seed oil, and macadamia oil that nourish the skin with fatty acids and instill hydration so that your skin feels silky, vibrant, and plump. This scent profile, like all the other KEYS products, is gentle, sweet, and a bit woodsy, with notes of Bergamot, Sage, Oat milk, and Palo Santo. I use the KEYS Soulcare Cleaning Balm as a first step to removing my makeup and then follow up with a liquid makeup remover to get the excess product out from around my eyes. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for a lightweight makeup remover or someone looking for a makeup remover that instills hydration and isn't quite as oily as an oil cleanser. My only dislike with this product is the price. I do feel that $36.00 for an 8 oz jar is a bit steep for how often I use a cleansing balm, but nonetheless, it's a great product.
