Juliette Has A Gun review - Miami Shake

Juliette Has a Gun’s Miami Shake is a full-bodied, fizzy delight that’s equal parts fun and sophisticated. It carries the nostalgic sweetness of the Victoria’s Secret body sprays I loved as a teenager but wears like the bold, confident scent of a grown woman. With just one or two sprays, this fragrance projects effortlessly, making a lasting impression without being overwhelming.

Playful yet decadent, Miami Shake adapts beautifully to different moods and occasions—whether paired with Commodity’s Milk for a creamy, luxe finish or layered with Not A Perfume for a sexy, clean twist. Unlike other fruity scents that can feel too youthful or seasonal, this one is versatile, sultry, and wearable year-round.

One thing I'm more mindful about is endocrine disruptors in fragrance. It's important to note that Miami Shake does contain the following which could be of concern:

  • Benzyl Salicylate: Some studies suggest it may have weak endocrine-disrupting properties, though the data is not fully conclusive.

  • Ethylhexyl Salicylate: Commonly used in sunscreens, this UV filter has been under scrutiny for potential hormone-disrupting effects.

  • Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Avobenzone): Another UV filter, it has raised concerns due to its potential to degrade and form endocrine-disrupting byproducts when exposed to sunlight.

While Miami Shake does contain some ingredients that raise mild concerns, it largely aligns with the standard formulation of many modern fragrances. Overall, this fragrance is a win for me.
